Limitless Time workout for Consumato Derby.
Perhaps she would enter Limitless in the Consumato Derby after all... Lately Kirsten has been a little bit more frazzled than usual, having trouble making up her mind. I that is what happens when she is head trainer, lead jockey, mother and owner of Akita Rose Stables. Why did she honestly work herself to the bone?
Limitless had originally been entered in the Consumato Derby two weeks ago but then Kirsten had scratched because she had figured that Limitless would need a break but after last week's poor performance in the Dubai Colt Cup she wasn't so sure. The big colt had been trapped on the rail and never got a chance to do his legendary closing kick to take the race. He had come out of the race frustrated and had barely broken in a sweat. Soooo this was why Kirsten had changed her mind and decided to enter the stallion in the prestigious first running of the third race of the Risorgimento Cup. Whether it was a good idea or not is to be decided.
It had actually worked out well for Kirsten to take the time to come out to Intrepid this weekend since ARS did not have any horses racing at the GHF track this weekend. It was a nice quiet change for her and her staff. It actually felt good for Kirsten to be alone with just her Limitless. Some good bonding time, even though the pair didn't really even need it since they are already a pretty incredible team.
Kirsten smiled and patted Limitless' whithers. The dark bay stallion snorted and rolled his eyes in her direction. They were on the new Intrepid practice track alone... At dusk... Kirsten probably coud have waited until morning to practice the boy but she had been excited to just get out there already. It was a first time for both of them on this track and Kirsten found it to be a decent track. The footing was good and the dirt was just a little softer than GHF. Limitless tossed his head and pranced on his toes. He was ready to really test the running surface.
Kirsten nodded and kicked him into gear. Limitless took off from a stand still into a easy gallop. His mane flapped behind him, whipping his rider in the face. I really should trim his mane... She grinned to herself. She knew she couldnt do that. Limitless was just too adorable to cut his mane. She loved this horse to pieces. She had extremely disappointed with his last race so she hoped he would do better in this race. He was against good competition but it was a good distance and a good race. This time they would be ready for anything.
