Personality
Admiral is pure determination and drive. This black colt is all seriousness. To the outside world he is cold and distant. He doesn't really bond with people and he could care less who is on his back when racing because he will do whatever he sees as best to win a race. Admiral isn't one to be pushed around, but neither does he just lash out. In some ways he is very much a living statue, but get this colt on the race track and you will see the fire in his eyes and the flash of his feet as he tears around the track. Admiral was born to race and essentially it is all this colt lives for. He sees people as the means to the end and therefore tolerates them, as long as he gets to crush the competition on the track. One unusual thing about this War Admiral son is that he actually enjoys the winner's circle. You would think, with this colt's cold indifferent personality that he'd hate the extra attention, but if you take him off the track when he's fought for his win...well he soaks up that extra attention like a sponge. Once the winner's circle is done, he's done with the people and simply wants to be turned out into his pasture, confident and at ease. When it comes to other horses, Admiral tolerates them. Most horses simply give the colt his space and just don't bother challenging him. If it came down to it, he'd be able to hold his own. On the track though, it's as if he has blinders on. When running Admiral has the unique ability to either run the front or close in the back. Yes, you heard correctly. Depending on the field, Admiral will adapt to either, whichever he feels will grant him a better chance of success.
History and Pedigree Information
Top Admiral's sire, War Admiral had a very short racing career due to his extremely dangerous antics, even though he was full of speed. He turned out to be an amazing producer, though, producing horses like Atalanta, Admirable, and Warlock, all very accomplished horses. The best of them however, is Admiral's Revenge, Triple Crown champion. Not only is Top Admiral half brother to all of those greats, his dam was quite impressive on the track and as a broodmare. Flight Of Fancy also had a short career, after an unexpected injury. She placed in every race she ran in, never placing lower than second. Her record when she retired was 8-6-2-0. As a broodmare she produced champion grade one, Comeuppance, who retired with a record of 50-26-10-5. Top Admiral has the blood of champions running through his veins and nothing less.
